Lemuria
My name is Frank Lahaye. Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Not as something separate, but as a way of moving through the world. Observing, noticing, being drawn to places without always knowing why.
After my father passed away, I began to reflect on my life more deeply.
What truly mattered became clear. Family came first, and I found myself focusing more and more on photography.
What changed wasn’t photography itself, but the way I approached it.
Less focused on capturing. More on being present.
I began returning to the same places.
Places that stayed with me, often without a clear reason why.
One of the landscapes I feel especially drawn to is the Ardennes.
I often spend time there with a tent, staying close to the places that hold my attention and returning whenever conditions, light, or atmosphere feel right.
Most of the time, nothing happens. Light shifts, the landscape remains closed, and I leave without taking an image. And still, I keep coming back.
Because sometimes, something opens. Quietly. Without warning.
Lemuria grew from that way of working. Not from chasing images, but from allowing them to appear. From stillness, patience, and attention.
Each image is approached as a finished piece. Not constructed, but discovered.
The work you see here is not made quickly. It asks for time. Sometimes hours. Sometimes days. Sometimes longer. Not everything reveals itself. But when it does, it feels inevitable. I release my work as limited edition fine art prints, created for spaces where calm, balance, and presence are valued.
For private, professional, and public environments where nature is not decoration, but a quiet counterbalance to everyday life.
